Sawyer's new room

Sawyer's new room started with white walls and all dark wood floors. For his Christmas present from the Strubs we fixed it up a bit by painting a wall, changing out the blinds, and adding an area rug. Here is a pic of Sawyer pretending to paint.

Here is one corner of his new room with the wall painted and new area rug in place. We decided to go with a car/truck theme because he is VERY into any form of transportation. We also have some decals of cars and trucks to stick onto the road that is painted across the middle of the wall (picture to come soon).

Here is the other corner with a closer view of the road and his new bamboo blinds. At the bottom of the picture are Sawyer's legs sticking up from jumping off his bed and diving onto his new carpet :)

Christmas with the Strub Family

The Strubs came down for a week to celebrate Christmas with us in Orlando. We had just moved into our new condo, and then packed up for a week stay at Cypress Harbor. GiGi and GiPa drove up from Lake Suzy for the week also. On Christmas Eve we had the traditional fondue dinner and opened presents.

This picture is funny because the steam from the fondue pot is blocking Alex's face, and Ang is trying to give Derrick bunny ears - oh siblings :)

Sawyer opening his Christmas present from Uncle Ry. It was the first one he opened, and since he loved it so much he didn't want to open any of the other presents. Uncle Ry hit it on the head by giving Sawyer the Mack truck from the movie CARS.

1st trip to the Magic Kingdom at Disney!

We were given three park-hopper passes into Disney, so Derrick, Grandma Beckie, Sawyer, and I all went to Magic Kingdom on Tuesday. It was a perfect day to be there - not too busy and not too hot. Sawyer got to see his favorite characters Winnie the Pooh, Tiger, Mickey, and Minnie. He wasn't shy about going up and giving each one of them hugs.

We got to ride the Dumbo ride, the Tea Cups, and go on It's a Small World

He was SO excited when he saw Mickey. They bring a few people into the room at a time to get a picture with Mickey and Minnie. As soon as he saw Mickey he said, "Hug Mickey Puhleease!" As soon as it was his turn he walked right up to Mickey and gave him hugs and kisses.

All tuckered out on the drive home clutching his double balloon that he asked Grandma for within minutes of being at the park. He fell asleep before we got off Disney property :)

2 years old!!!

Grandma Beckie came down for Sawyer's birthday. All day long whenever anyone asked him how old he was he said "three," even though he is only two. He had a race car/Lightning McQueen themed celebration with pizza and an oreo cookie cake.

Sawyer blowing out the candles on the cake with Dad's help.
There are three of them because he was convinced he was turning three yesterday :)

Visit from Grandma Mary

Grandma Mary came down for a week over Thanksgiving. We had a great time going to playgrounds, playing with Sawyer's new birthday presents, watching Bolt, and shopping.

Sprinkles in my yogart

Sawyer found the sprinkles for his cake and insisted he put some in
his strawberry yogart.

Happy Birthday Sawyer!

Sawyer woke up extra early this morning - he must have known it was
his birthday. He got to pick out where we put his birthday sign, so he
put it way "up high puhleease." After hanging the sign, we had a
pancake breakfast.

Sawyer opening his first present of the morning. Unfortunately he got
really sad about ripping his NASCAR wrapping paper that he wasn't too
interested in the actual present. But, we assured him that the NASCAR
paper was still good even in many pieces.
