Outlet Shopping Spree

Thanks Dave and Lisa for the gift card to the outlet mall. Derrick and I found a couple things at Banana Republic, the boys got clothes from Carters, and Sawyer got to pick out a special treat with $5 we had left after all the shopping.
Spencer got shirts, pants and socks

Sawyer got new shirts, shorts, socks and sandles

Remember this wagon - Spencer is almost big enough to ride in it with Sawyer.

With the $5 left over on the gift card we went to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and let Sawyer pick out a special treat. He chose a giant rice krispie bar covered in white chocolate and M&Ms.

Mommy games and Daddy games

Spencer and Mom playing catch with a wiffle ball. I love how much energy he puts into throwing that wiffle ball. Sawyer and Dad playing a "Daddy" game. Sawyer told Derrick exactly how to lay so he could jump across him.

Conversations with a 3 year old...

While playing cars together...

Sawyer: "Mommy which car do you want?" (holding Lightning McQueen, Chick Hicks, and Viewzeen).

Me: "I'll have Lightning McQueen." (knowing that he did not want to give up LM)

Sawyer: "OK, but you can have any one you want."

Me: "Ok, I'll have Lightning McQueen."

Sawyer: "You already played with lightning McQueen though."

Me: "Oh, when was that?"

Sawyer: "yesterday"

Me: "So, can I play with Lightning McQueen today?"

Sawyer: "Well...actually...don't forget these are my cars. You can play with this one." And he hands me the no-name stock car without any wheels - thanks Sawyer :)

While eating breakfast...

Sawyer: "Why does daddy always take the Acura?"

Me: "Well, daddy drives the Acura so that we can drive the van. The van is bigger so there is more room for all of our stuff like the stoller, car seats, diaper bags..."

Sawyer: "oooh...and all our hats!"

Me: "That's right, and we need room for all our hats."

Good thing we have a van to carry around all our hats :)

Mac N Cheesehead

Apparently the cheese in mac n cheese is the perfect consistency for
holding a mohawk in place. Just eat mac n cheese with your fingers,
than run your hand through your hair.

Tent Day

When Derrick gets an entire day off of work we have Sawyer choose something fun to do with Dad. Last week, all he wanted to do was build a tent. So, using three sheets, a fleece blanket, giant sectional couch, and a high chair for a door, Derrick constructed a tent. It came complete with special hiding spaces for important things like a flashlight and gumball machine.

Sawyer was pretty thrilled with Dad's tent making skills

Spencer wasn't so sure about the tent - he just kept crawling in and out all day

Croegaert Family visits

In December Caitlin and her family came to Orlando for a few days. They were staying at Universal which is only a couple miles from our place. I got to meet up with the Croegaerts at Universal CityWalk one night, and then Brian, Michelle, Caitlin, and Keleen all came over to our place for dinner another night. It was so much fun to hang out with them all!

9 Months Old

Spencer turned 9 months old today! In honor of such a momental
occasion we let him sit up in the cart with a steering wheel. Sawyer
was nice enough to show him the ropes of steering the cart around the
grocery store, and shared the steering wheels surprisingly well.
Usually Spencer stays in his car seat which balances across the basket
of the cart, so this was a lot of fun for him.

Spencer is very busy at this age. He walks around the living room
while hanging onto the couch or ottoman. He is quick with his hands
and gets ahold of things Sawyer deems "dangerous" such as anything
that is not a baby toy. And, he loves following his big brother
around the house.

Spencer does not like baby food and would probably quit formula all
together if it was up to him. He loves cheese, yogart, french toast,
bagels, muffins, bananas, pasta, carrots, pretty much anything I give
him he'll eat - except regular baby food.

He doesn't have his 9 mo doc appt until mid January, so I don't have
his height and weight measurements yet. We love you Spencinator!

Muffin Tops

Sawyer LOVES muffins. The last batch we made was banana chocolate
chip, and they were "yummy in the tummy" according to Sawyer. He has
his trickster smile because he figured out that if he ate the tops off
the muffins I wouldn't make him put them back on the serving tray for
someone else. He started out with one, but managed to bite into four
while Derrick and I were bringing everything else to the table. He
ended up finishing 3 and sharing the last muffin bottom with Spencer.
